Selco Point Matched Thermistors Offer Functionality and Performance Tailored to Precise Application Requirements
ORANGE, Calif. - July 19, 2002 - A new line of Point Matched NTC Thermistors from Selco Products Company offers the capability to set the component's response function at a specific temperature point with a choice of tolerance ranges. The Selco PM Series negative temperature coefficient thermistors are precision tested at the specified temperature and tolerance to ensure consistent performance. They are a very cost-effective selection for high-volume applications such as HVAC, automotive and industrial markets.
The Selco PM Series thermistors are available in six standard temperature match points of -20°C, 0°C, 25°C, 37°C, 70°C, and 100°C with other temperature options available upon request. Standard tolerance ranges are ±0.25°C, ±0.5°C, ±1°C, ±2°C, ±5°C, and ±10°C. Dissipation constant is 2mW/°C in still air or 13mW/°C in stirred oil, with a typical thermal time constant of 0.75 second in stirred oil. Maximum power rating is 30mW at 25°C to 1mW at 100°C (used in "self-heat" applications such as liquid level control and air flow sensing).
These thermistors may be intermittently cycled at temperatures from -50°C to 150°C. Optimum stability is achieved when they are stored at temperatures below 50°C and operated continuously at temperatures below 100°C.
Lead types for the PM Series include tinned copper, tinned alloy, nickel, red Teflon 180 alloy and Ag/Cu twisted Kynar® with outside diameters of 0.008", 0.010", 0.126", 0.159" or 0.169" in standard 2" and 3" lengths (other lead lengths can also be specified). Chip coating options include phenolic, epoxy and uncoated. In addition to 10 standard part numbers, custom designs are also available through Selco's engineering support resources. The PM Series thermistors are competitively priced.
