Integrated Computer Solutions Releases Replay Xcessory 4.0, an Updated Testing Tool for X Windows and Motif

Replay Xcessory Automates Regression Testing and Provides an Alternative for UNIX and Linux Customers Facing the Retirement of Mercury XRunner(R)

BEDFORD, Mass., Sept. 27 -- Integrated Computer Solutions, Inc. today announced the release of Replay Xcessory(TM) 4.0, a comprehensive testing environment for UNIX and Linux applications using X/Motif. The product makes the creation and execution of complex application tests intuitive and efficient.

Replay Xcessory delivers a hard-to-find productivity tool for UNIX/Linux professionals. It allows developers and QA professionals to record user interactions, create test baselines, capture critical information for validation purposes, and replay sessions interactively or through batch mode to ensure the application continues to function correctly. Replay Xcessory operates on objects rather than screen location, making test scripts more resilient. Complex tests, especially large volumes of data-driven stress tests, are easily built using the full power of the TCL scripting language that drives Replay Xcessory. The product eliminates the error-prone and time- consuming processes associated with manual testing.

"As Mercury Interactive Corporation's XRunner reaches its end of life, ICS continues to enhance Replay Xcessory and provides an alternative to customers who still require a testing environment to seamlessly test their pre-existing and new X Window and Motif applications," said Tim Hok, Replay Xcessory Product Manager of Integrated Computer Solutions, Inc. "ICS remains committed and continues to provide new software solutions and full support to help our customers create and maintain mission-critical, high-performance applications."

With Replay Xcessory, developers can:

-- Test multiple applications simultaneously
-- Attach a test to an already running application
-- Easily create and maintain complex tests with full TCL support
-- Utilize optical character recognition
-- Automatically synchronize with system response time, preventing script failures
-- Easily build and manage libraries of test suites
-- Choose interactive or unattended playback
-- Automatically generate reports
-- Create and manage widget tags visually
