CompactPCI Versions are Latest Addition to DDC's Test/Simulator 1553 Interface Card Line

Bohemia, New York (May 15. 2002)- Data Device Corporation (DDC) has added two CompactPCI versions of its latest generation of card level products designed for test and simulation of MIL-STD-1553 systems: the BU-65570T and BU-65572T. These cards provide full and intelligent interfacing for one or two, serial, dual-redundant data buses and a cPCI chassis. The BU-65570T/2T is designed for use in a wide variety of military, commercial, space, and industrial applications.

"We introduced the same functional version of this card in a PCI model last spring, and now we're following that up with a CompactPCI offering," said Mike Hegarty, Data Bus Technologies Product Marketing Manager at DDC. "The cPCI platform is making inroads in lab and automatic test equipment environments where VME and VXJ had previously been dominant."

The BU-65570T/72T concurrently simulate a Bus Controller (BC) and up to 31 Remote Terminals (RT) and provide a selectable, triggerable Bus Monitor for each MIL-STD-1553 bus. The cards can also generate a wide variety of word and message errors. Master capability allows blocks of data to be transferred to PCI address space via direct memory access from the card's monitor(s). This reduces host processor overhead. IRIG-B standard support, for reception of a 1 kHz pulse-code- modulated time input, is built into the BU-65570T/72T. The BU-65570T is a fixed 1553 transmitter voltage card, while the BU-65572T provides variable transmitter voltage.

The BU-65570T and BU-65572T are compatible with Windows 95/98/NT/2000, 1XP, Linux and VxWorks platforms. DDC includes software drivers and 'C', Visual Basic, and LabView programming libraries at no extra charge. Bus connection and configuration (transformer or direct coupled) as well as bus programmable termination can be controlled using DDC software.

DDC is shipping both the BU-65570T and BU-65572T cPCI models, in addition to the PCI-, PCMCIA- and VME-compatible versions already on the market.

Data Device Corporation is an international leader in high-reliability data conversion interface components and subsystems for military and commercial applications. Established in 1964 with the introduction of the first synchro-to-digital module, DDC has design and manufacturing facilities in their Bohemia, New York headquarters and Cork, Ireland.
