Tyco Electronics' NEMA Terminal Blocks Get a Facelift
HARRISBURG, Pa, December 18- Tyco Electronics recently upgraded the entire BUCHANAN product line of 500, 600 and 700 series medium duty terminal blocks into one, all-inclusive series, the 900 series. With this upgrade, Tyco Electronics was able to reduce part number counts from over 150 to less than 20. The 900 series simplifies the product and reduces the number of part numbers a customer needs to order and carry as inventory. The 500, 600 and 700 series could be combined since Tyco Electronics was able to secure a new housing material with properties that met the requirements of all three series without changing the terminal block's performance attributes. Tyco Electronics has kept existing pricing or reduced pricing for most part numbers. Lead times range from stock for the most popular part numbers to ten days for others.
Medium duty NEMA terminal blocks are suitable for many uses in control systems, power distribution boxes, and many input/output applications in a wide range of applications.
The 900 series NEMA terminal blocks are molded from high-temperature, UL 94V-0 plastic rated for up to 150 degrees C. A gray markable surface eliminates the need for a painted marking area. The contacts are rated for up to 50 amps at 600 volts and accept wire sizes from 8 through 22 AWG. Several contact styles are available including; blade, strap, quick connect tab and tubular. Copper alloy is used for a base contact material and platings include silver, zinc, nickel and tin.
The terminal blocks can be ordered with a dovetail or flat base and mount directly or in a channel and clamp arrangement (standard or miniature).
