Genie Makes Powerful New Improvements To S-80 Boom
Genie Industries has improved their S(TM)-80/S(TM)-85 self-propelled telescopic booms with engines that provide more usable power than before, faster lift speed, improved traction and safety.
With the added horsepower, the S-80/S-85 can handle any job site situation, especially muddy or steep conditions. Choose between the larger more powerful GM 3.0L Gas/LPG 80 hp (60kw), Deutz Diesel F4L 913 77 hp (57kw) or Perkins 704-30, 63hp (47kw).
The more powerful engines give the stick boom family the capability to operate multiple functions simultaneously resulting in maximum lift speed. The S-80 elevates from the ground to full height in just 80 seconds. Extendable axles operate from the platform. Setup is one step. Simply activate extend function while driving the machine and the axles automatically extend, lock in place and enable platform elevation.
Oscillating axles now come as standard equipment. This revolutionary system senses the terrain and adjusts the front axle oscillation based on ground conditions. This system maximizes four-point contact with the ground for improved traction and an amazingly smooth and safe ride.
Other safety improvements include the adjustable foot switch time out to prevent the operator from blocking the foot switch, and onboard diagnostics for faster troubleshooting of electrical problems. With the new joystick controller, there are fewer moving parts to fail and all of the circuitry is incorporated into one board. All adjustments, including adjustments for individual needs, can be made without opening the control box. Additional improvements include the ability to accept options like air lines and weld cables; and performance upgrades of hydraulics for longer life and easier service access.
