telent to Debut at Traffex 2007


19th March 2007 - telent plc (LSE: TLNT), a leading provider of managed communications services, today announced that it will exhibit at Traffex for the first time. The company, which has extensive experience in the provision of these services in the roads and highways sector, will be displaying its comprehensive portfolio of solutions at the show, which is taking place between 17 - 19 April, 2007 at the NEC, Birmingham.

Visitors to the telent stand (E92) will be able to see the company's services and solutions, which encompass the four main areas of: consultancy; installation and commissioning; maintenance; and systems integration. On display will be the Real-Time Passenger Information System, MATTISSE, which successfully manages real-time information from a number of sources including Local Transport Authorities, Police Control Centres and Public Transport Operators and delivers traffic and traveller information to the public via a range of channels, including the internet and mobile phones.

With this client, telent operates a number of contracts, including the North West TechMAC which was awarded to RTS (Roadside Technology Services), an unincorporated joint venture between telent and Atkins. Under this contract, RTS is responsible for the maintenance management, renewal and improvement of the roadside communications network found in the North-West of England. This is the second TechMAC contract to be let. telent and Atkins are also responsible for the first TechMAC contract which covers the Midlands of England.
