Techniks Flexible Collet System

July 13, 2005

According to the manufacturer, the Flexible Collet
System is designed to handle a wide range of machining
tasks without the expense of buying new tool holders.
The machinist simply chooses the right collet for the job,
sets his tool, and tightens the collet nut to the proper torque.

Collets are available for: drilling, milling, coolant thru, and high-speed applications. Special "DNA" Dead Nuts Accurate collets are used for small drills (6mm and smaller) to maintain T.I.R. at those sizes.

The system consists of a precision ER tool holder that comes with a special "Power Coat" high power nut that, according to Techniks, holds tighter than any other nuts. John Stagge, President of Techniks says: "The 'Power Coat' nut is the secret to our high holding power. Because it holds so tight, the 'Power Coat' nut improves T.I.R., extends carbide tool life, and even permits light milling operations". Techniks recommends that for best results always tighten the nut to the proper torque using a torque wrench with a tightening stand, and never over-tighten the nut because this can damage both the collet and the collet pocket.

Techniks stocks collets in precision and ultra-precision styles, in sizes from ER8 through ER40. Holders are available for CAT, HSK, BT, and ISO spindle types. Each tool holder comes with a lab certification documenting accuracy and balance test results so the buyer can be assured of top quality. All Techniks products are backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
