CHARLOTTE, NC - June 7, 2005 - SATO Corporation, a global leader in barcode printing, labeling, and EPC/RFID solutions, today announced the launch of its new line of tag and label printers, the XLe Series. Available as direct thermal or thermal transfer, the XL400e and XL410e are the latest offerings in a long line of high quality, industrial thermal printers.

SATO's XLe Series tag and label printers, which print, cut, and stack, are ideal for the textile tag and ticketing industries including apparel labeling, retail tags, hang tags, and lumber tags. The movable sensor allows for an endless choice of media. The intelligent printhead regulates the printing temperature, which optimizes the print quality, while the use of the cutter and stacker enable the user to select a solution suitable for their individual application.

A state-of-the-art, 32-Bit RISC processor is at the heart of SATO's XLe Series tag and label printers, ensuring a high performance, high-speed printing process. Featuring SATO's well-known industrial chassis, as well as a heavy-duty print mechanism and cutter assembly, the XLe Series can tackle even the most demanding print jobs with ease.

Additional features include a print speed of 8 inches per second at 203 dpi, 2 MB of standard memory, and a standard Serial RS232C interface. Optional plug-in interfaces including Parallel - IEEE1284 (ECP), Ethernet (10/100BaseT), and Wireless 802.11b are available, as well as a real time calendar/clock, stacker, memory expansion, and memory card interface board.
