BTU Measurement Ssytem
SPARTANBURG, SC, November, 2001- Niagara's BTU measurement systems consist of a calculator, a target or turbine flowmeter, and a pair of temperature sensors. Niagara's surface mounted BTU calculator receives signals from the flowmeter and temperature sensors. A single processor inside the display unit translates this information into BTU's of heating or cooling. The temperature sensors are 500 ohms platinum RTD sensors which measure the change in temperature between the supply and return fluid lines. These BTU measurement systems are used to measure
individual energy consumption in virtually any liquid heating/cooling system such as apartment complexes, office buildings, and condominiums. These systems are also used to measure the performance of energy saving systems such as waste heat recovery, solar heating and preheating.
