New Torque Limited Synchronous Motors Ideal for Applications Requiring Constant Closing Torque
VERNON HILLS, IL - Saia-Burgess USA Inc. introduces RG Series Synchronous Motors. These motors are available in three standard sizes (35, 50 and 64) with operation at 50Hz and 60Hz. They are IP40 rated and offer operating voltage of 24, 115 or 230 V. They are an ideal solution in applications requiring constant closing torque, such as valve/flap actuators.
These torque-limited synchronous motors utilize a magnetic hysteresis coupling between the rotor and output shaft to produce a constant torque when stalled. These motors achieve extremely long service lives in the stalled condition without the need to switch off supply voltage. RG Series motors are able to accelerate relatively large mass moments of inertia asynchronously. Once synchronous speed is reached, these motors will maintain a constant speed.
