Hubbell Wiring Device Introduces 'Circuit-Lock': Motor Controllers and Disconnects In One Switch

MILFORD, Conn., June 6, 2005 - Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems has introduced Circuit-Lock®, a combination of manual motor controllers and disconnects in one switch. The Circuit-Lock combination offers customers the convenience of a controller with the safety of a disconnect, eliminating confusion about what, where and how each is being used. The one device meets both disconnect and controller specifications to provide maximum 'Safety First Priority,' operating flexibility, code compliance and productivity.

Every Circuit-Lock motor controller is a UL 508 listed motor controller 'Suitable as Motor Disconnect' to comply with both the controller and disconnect requirements of the NEC. Positioned between the load center and the motor, the Hubbell combination switch allows the user to safely terminate circuit power at the motor for servicing without the inconvenience of shutting down the entire line. Hubbell 's disconnects are rated to withstand 10,000- amp high fault short circuits for maximum safety.

With Circuit-Lock, 'line of sight' placement can now be easily achieved at the equipment or on the wall. Safe, strategic disconnect placement can also be made with smaller sized switches and a wider variety of enclosures.

Available as a component switch or pre-assembled into a variety of NEMA-rated enclosures, Circuit-Lock motor controllers/disconnects provide both the size and fit for utmost flexibility and efficiency.
