Surge Protective Devices incorporate diagnostic monitoring.

Press Release Summary:

Panel-mounted Series 75000 and 74000 SPDs are designed for facilities with 3-phase, WYE-configured systems. Units record and download surge events, and provide visual and audio abnormal condition alarms. They have high rating for maximum single-pulse surge current: 200kA for 74000 models, and 320kA for 75000 models. Seven-mode protection covers each phase to neutral, each phase to ground, and neutral to ground in WYE configurations.

Leviton Introduces 7-Mode, Panel-Mounted Surge Protective Devices with Advanced Diagnostic Monitoring

LITTLE NECK, NY, May 15, 2002 - The Power Quality Division of Leviton offers new panel-mounted surge protective devices (SPD's) for industrial and commercial applications. The 75000 and 74000 series products are designed for facilities with 3-phase WYE-configured (4-wire + ground) systems, where it is important to provide surge protection for all seven modes in the AC distribution network. The units offer advanced surge monitoring capabilities that include recording and downloading the surge events taking place at the SPD, with time, date and magnitude, plus visual and audio abnormal condition alarms. The SPD's have a high rating for maximum single-pulse surge current:
200kA for 74000 devices, 320kA for 75000 devices. This ensures heavy-duty protection at service entrances, distibution and branch circuits, computer room load centers or for use as dedicated feeds to selected equipment.

The Leviton panel-mount SPD's 7-mode protection covers each phase to neutral, each phase to ground and neutral to ground in WYE configurations. Removable surge modules feature large diameter 53mm (75000) and 40mm (74000) MOV's that are individually fused for over-current protection. The SPD's modular design facilitates installation by allowing enclosures to be mounted prior to inner assembly installation and also permits easy replacement of modules in installed panels.

Tested to UL 1449, NEMA and IEEE standards, including maximum surge current testing and IEEE Category C3-level analysis, the SPD's are a strong addition to Leviton's power quality line.
