Advanced Protection Technologies, Inc. Introduces SPDee DC, the Industry's First and Only UL 1741 Listed SPD for Solar PV DC Applications
Clearwater, Florida - Advanced Protection Technologies, Inc. (APT), a global leader in the development and the manufacturing of Surge Protective Devices (SPDs), announces the industry's FIRST Underwriters Laboratory (UL) 1741 listed SPD for DC Photovoltaic (PV) applications.
Mr. Lou Farquhar, VP of Engineering Services, stated, "SPDee DC fills a void for the PV industry. Until now, SPDs for PV had been UL Recognized to a different standard. SPDee DC is Listed to UL 1741, the first and only SPD to have such Listings."
SPDee DC is available in three voltage configurations: 300VDC, 600VDC and 1000VDC. The internal components are housed in a NEMA 4X Polycarbonate enclosure that features an LED indicator. The Tri-Mount design allows for ease of installation via DIN Rail, chase-nipple or bracket mount. SPDee DC utilizes the latest, more robust 34mm square Thermally Protected MOV (TPMOV) technology to optimize safety and performance.
