Supermicro Shows Next-Generation Xeon Servers and Storage (SAS) at CEBIT 2006

Featuring the New Intel Xeon (Dempsey/Woodcrest) Server Products, SAS Solutions with SES2, Dual-Core Low-Power Solutions, and Optimized Chassis
SAN JOSE, Calif., March 10 - Supermicro Computer, Inc., producer of the world's most comprehensive range of server products, will showcase many lines of new products at CEBIT 2006 (Hall 22, Stand B16) in Hannover, Germany, March 9 through March 15.
Highlighting the latest server technology, Supermicro will be displaying the new Intel Xeon (Dempsey and Woodcrest) server line, Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) servers with SES2 support, low-power Sossaman solutions, and several optimized chassis in rackmount and tower form factors.
To further solidify its SAS technology leadership in the server industry, Supermicro will roll out a complete line of SAS-optimized server solutions with SES2 enclosure management and fully functional RAID capability including RAID5 and RAID 10. These systems demonstrate remarkable performance gains and boast massive expandability with zero price premiums when compared to a similarly-spec'ed SCSI system.
Another solution focus at Supermicro's booth is the new Xeon Dual-Core server platform. These solutions take advantage of the new hardware by passing on better value (much higher price/performance ratio) and greater system stability (lowered thermal emission) onto its customers. Starting with the new X7 series server solutions which support the new Intel Dempsey and the Woodcrest CPU with 1333MHz of FSB, these new processors are designed to improve server responsiveness, speed and multi-processing by allowing software to execute information four threads per processor simultaneously.
Supermicro is also displaying the much-awaited low-power Dual-Core based products, including the X6DLP-4G2 and X6DLP-EG2 serverboards. These dual-processor platforms support Dual-Core Xeon(TM) Processors LV, utilizing only 31 watts per processor enabling the system to run efficiently with minimal cooling while generating much less heat and lower fan noise.
