Supermicro Reveals Industry-Leading Line of Multi-Core UP Servers

New High-Efficiency SuperServers Leveraging Intel® E3010/E3000 (Mukilteo-2P/2) Chipsets Deliver Increased Performance-per-Watt

SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 21 / - Supermicro Computer, Inc., the leader in high-efficiency servers, chassis and motherboards, today unveiled its extensive line of new uni-processor (UP) server solutions based on Intel's new E3010 and E3000 chipsets. Optimized for Intel Xeon 3000 and Core 2 Duo processors, Supermicro's broad line of new multi-core server solutions deliver improved performance and energy efficiency to provide users with a substantial performance-per-watt boost.

"Our incredibly versatile new line of Mukilteo-2P/2 multi-core platforms span a multitude of industry segments, and they deliver the performance and features user demand in order to realize the full potential of their applications," asserts Charles Liang, president and CEO of Supermicro. "Just as important, industry-leading energy efficiency and the ability to upgrade to multi-core processors reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) for all of these new products."

Today's launch of 5025M+ and 5015M+ SuperServers and Super PDSM+ series motherboards includes more than a dozen new server solutions.

Supermicro's huge selection includes two high-performance 2U servers, the SuperServer 5025M-4+ and 5025M-i+. Powered by the PDSM4+ and PDSME+ motherboards, based on the Intel E3010 (Mukilteo-2P) chipset, these servers support one Intel Xeon 3000 or Core 2 Duo processor with a 1066/800/533 MHz system bus and up to 8GB of ECC unbuffered DDR2-667/533 memory. Other impressive features include four PCI-X and two PCI-Express expansion slots, four SATA ports (3 Gb/s) with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10, dual PCI-Express Gigabit LAN ports and a SIM1U IPMI 2.0 slot for remote server management features like media over LAN and optional KVM over LAN. The 5025M-4+ also includes Ultra 320 SCSI with host RAID and ZCR card support, while both servers comply with RoHS requirements.

For 1U servers, Supermicro is introducing four different models based on the Intel E3000 chipset. Ideal for server appliances, these stable platforms provide enterprises with easy upgrade options from existing Pentium D platforms.

Well-suited for small businesses, basic infrastructure and low-cost HPC applications, the broad new line of Supermicro UP server solutions includes the following products:
