Supermicro A+ Server Solutions Optimized for the Latest Dual-Core AMD Opteron Processors

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 9 -- Supermicro Computer, Inc., a leading producer of high-quality motherboard, chassis and server solutions, will display a full line of A+ server solutions at CeBIT 2006 (Hall 22, Stand B16, Booth A1) in Hannover, Germany, March 9 through March 15. These impressive solutions support the very latest Dual-Core AMD Opteron(TM) processors designed to minimize overall server power consumption and cooling requirements, and deliver industry-leading performance and performance-per-watt capabilities. Supermicro will also showcase a high-density, cutting-edge 1U Quad-processor Server and a powerful H8QC8+ quad serverboard which supports up to four Dual-Core AMD Opteron 800 Series processors and features a 1GHz HyperTransport(TM) technology link. This nVidia nForce Pro 2200 chipset-based board, combined with Supermicro's SC818S+-1000 chassis, is optimized for high-performance computing clusters (HPCC) aimed to exceed the rigorous computation requirements of power-hungry data centers and scientific applications. Scaled for today's most demanding business applications, this 4-way enterprise server supports all Dual-Core AMD Opteron 800 series processors including the new Model 885.

AMD and Supermicro are co-hosting a customer and press networking reception in Stand B16 of Hall 22 from 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, March 11, to demonstrate a strong mutual relationship and discuss Supermicro's participation in AMD's expanded Validated Server Program (VSP). Already enjoying outstanding leadership in the server market space, Supermicro further leverages VSP with its participation.

Besides high-end servers, Supermicro also produces cost-effective server appliances including three lines of single-processor server appliances. Powered by the hot-selling H8SSL-i serverboard, the compact (14-inch depth) AS1010S-MR supports a Dual-Core AMD Opteron 100 Series processor to deliver excellent cost-performance results. To provide customers with greater selection, Supermicro is now introducing the new H8SCi serverboard and H8SCA motherboard for 2U and tower workstations. Both of these boards are based on the nVidia nForce 2200 Pro chipset and support single-core AMD Opteron processors or AMD Athlon(TM) 64 processors along with a 1000MHz HyperTransport(TM) technology link.
