SunGard Availability Services Business Continuity Software Named Most Widely Used Software Tool in Independent Survey

Wayne, PA - March 25, 2011 - SunGard Availability Services' Continuity Management Solution is the prevailing leader in businesses continuity software according to a new, independent research survey which included more than 2,600 business continuity professionals. Survey results indicated that around 50 percent of organizations use a business continuity software tool. Of the positive respondents, SunGard's Living Disaster Recovery Planning System (LDRPS) is used by 62 percent and SunGard's BIA Professional software is used by 37 percent while the rest of the primary providers received a combined total of 19 percent.

BC Management, an international recruitment and research company focused exclusively on the business continuity industry, conducted the survey on business continuity management software deployed at organizations. Results can be accessed at: www.bcmanagement.com/1/post/2011/01/weekly-bcm-research-data-point18.html

"This independent survey reflects our continued commitment to providing the best business continuity management software, services and support," said Tracey Forbes, vice president of product development at SunGard Availability Services. "Our software has achieved this result because it has been refined and enhanced by the thousands of business continuity planners who use the product every day-our customers."

LDRPS and BIA Professional are part of SunGard's Continuity Management Solution (CMS) which provides a common enterprise platform to help organizations ensure data consistency across multiple planning, testing and execution-management processes, as well as standardized reporting for seamless automation and management of business continuity processes. SunGard's Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Consulting team provides business continuity planning strategies that work hand-in-hand with the CMS platform.

LDRPS provides software tools so business continuity planners can build:

o Crisis management plans to fit an organization's operational structure;
o Technology recovery plans to match a matrix management approach, including dependency mapping for the infrastructure supporting your applications;
o Critical application recovery plans to smoothly interface with infrastructure recovery plans;
o Process or departmental recovery plans to support planning decisions and strategies, and identify dependencies between critical business processes; and
o Site event management plans to document how to deal with a specific incident at a particular business location.

BIA Professional is a business impact analysis application, which helps organizations identify financial and operational vulnerabilities and prioritize business continuity planning efforts. It is designed to address each organization's unique information availability needs by determining the impact of potential disruptions, and defining and prioritizing recovery time requirements by way of an automated, intelligent reporting system.
