Sumitomo Electric to Showcase Optical Mux/Dmux Integrated TOSA/ROSA for 100GLR4 at OFC 2013


ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd., a leading global provider of advanced optical solutions, announced today that it will showcase its optical multiplexer/de-multiplexer integrated TOSA/ROSA for 100G-LR4 in CFP4 modules at OFC/NFOEC which is taking place 17-21 March 2013, at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, CA, USA.



The TOSA and ROSA both use low-loss optical multiplexer and de-multiplexer to achieve high optical coupling efficiency and thereby maintain high performance.



The optical-multiplexer integrated TOSA achieves high output power of 2.5 dBm per lane. Quad DML driver and high-power direct-modulated laser provide a low power consumption 1.6 W maximum. The package size is only 21.3 x 5.3 x 6.7 mm.



The ROSA offers a high sensitivity of -8.6dBm in OMA. Consuming only 0.9 W, the ROSA features a high-speed PIN detector and high-sensitivity quad TIA. The package size is only 15.4 x 5.3 x 6.7 mm.
