Original Press Release:

Series 500 Submersible KPSI(R) Transducer With SDI-12 Serial-Digital Interface Now Available From Pressure Systems, Inc.

Hampton, VA, November 2001 -- Pressure Systems, Inc., manufacturer of submersible and above ground transducers, has added an SDI-12 (serial data interface at 1200 baud) serial-digital interface to its submersible Series 500 KPSI transducers.

This level transducer is ideal for use in remote environmental monitoring applications that require low power and can be battery-powered with minimal current drain, low system cost and use of a single recorder with multiple sensors daisy-chained to one cable. Specific applications include well monitoring and dewatering, level monitoring, ground water monitoring and surface water monitoring. The SDI-12 transducer can also be used in down hole applications and reservoirs as well as to check tank levels.

SDI-12 is the standard for interfacing data recorders with microprocessor-based sensors primarily for environmental data collection.

In addition to the highly stable media-isolated sensor it uses for the SDI-12 interface, the Series 500 incorporates a microprocessor and EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory), which are used to implement sophisticated compensation algorithms.

This submersible pressure transducer features excellent accuracy of ±0.05% FS total error band and repeatability as well as on-board surge protection. Its small rugged package is comprised of welded 316 SS construction and a unique cable seal system. It is 100% SDI-12 datalogger compatible, ensuring maximum flexibility in the field, and can accommodate lengths between sensors and
recorders up to 200 feet.

The submersible pressure transducers are available in pressure ranges from 0-5 psig through 0-100 psig with custom pressure ranges available upon request. The 12 oz. unit has a supply voltage of 8 to 28 VDC and a current draw of 17 mA.

Optional accessories for the SDI-12 include field installable nose caps, both closed-face and open-face, and surge/lightning protection (with lifetime over-surge warranty). Each transducer is shipped with a user's manual, insuring trouble-free and accurate data recorder setup.

Pricing for the SDI-12 Submersible Pressure Transducer is $995 per unit. Delivery is 10 working days ARO.
