New High-Speed Morehouse-Cowles 2850 Si Series Stone Mill Triples Product Output in Clean Industry Applications



Fullerton Calif. -A recent conversion from mechanical drive to inverter drive takes stone mill technology to a high-speed level with the new 2850 Si Series Stone Mill from Morehouse-COWLES' a division of MFICT Corporation. Using a powerful 50-hp motor and inverter drive, the 2850 Si Stone Series operates at variable speeds up to 5,400 rpm producing 100 to 4,000 gallons per hour. This nearly triples the output of a 25-hp standard mechanical drive stone mill producing 50 to 1,500 gallons per hour at speeds up to 3,600 rpm. The inverter technology is quieter and more energy efficient than mechanical drive stone mills, too.

Operators use a precision adjustment wheel to position the stone clearance within 0.001 inch. A dual-bearing spindle keeps the stones aligned and a clamp lock maintains the adjustment settings. The front-mounted control panel lets operators easily monitor the mill's performance for optimal production levels.

The mill chamber is made with highly polished stainless steel and is ideal for clean industry applications in chemical, cosmetic, food and pharmaceutical manufacturing. A water-jacketed frame permits manufacturers to heat or cool the chamber.
