Santa Clara, CA - January 2004 -Lin Engineering, the Step Motor Specialists, have recently developed a great new product. The SilverPak 17, Nema size 17, 2-phase, 1.8 degree bipolar step motor with an integrated microstepping driver that delivers high performance in a small package. Lin Engineering is pleased to announce that this product is now available with a built-in encoder.
The SilverPak 17 features: selectable step resolution from full step, half step, 1/4 step to 1/8 microsteps; optically isolated step, direction and disable inputs; and automatic current reduction with the disable switch. It operates on 12 to 24 VDC and has low power dissipation. The SilverPak 17 offers efficient current control and quiet operation.
This integrated step motor and driver is available in three body lengths: 2.69", 2.92" and 3.24". It is capable of up to 85 oz-in of holding torque. The motor's standard front shaft extension length is 0.94" and its standard shaft diameter is 0.1968" however; custom lengths and diameters are available upon request. A DB-9 male connector provides power and control connections (a mating connector is provided).
The following features/options are available to you with the built-in encoder: tracks up to 100,000 cycles/sec, 32 to 1024 CPR, max pps 4096, 2 channel quadrature TTL squarewave single-ended outputs and optional index (3rd channel).
