Steam Tunnel offers speed, shape, and material flexibility.

Press Release Summary:

Based on dual-zone steam tunnels, heavy-duty KST 55-710 is used for precise shrinking of shrink sleeve labels at slow to moderate speeds. Adjustments for steam volume, flow, and nozzle position allow application of steam to specific points on package. Containers of any shape can be filled or empty, and tunnel works with PVC, PETG, OPS, and PLA films in gauges as thin as 40 microns. Optional Efficiency Package features thermostatically-controlled electronic temperature regulator.

Original Press Release:

New Steam Tunnel Provides Maximum Flexibility in Speed, Container Shape, Label Material

Who benefits? Contract packers, food / beverage / dairy companies, manufacturers of personal care products and others who need to run shrink sleeve labels, or combination Tamper Evident labels, at slow and moderate speeds.

OCTOBER 15, 2007. PDC International Corporation, a manufacturer of steam, convection and infrared shrink tunnels, has introduced a heavy-duty, and highly flexible, steam tunnel for the precise shrinking of shrink sleeve labels at slow to moderate speeds. Speeds are adjustable within a broad range.

With a design based on PDC's higher speed, dual-zone steam tunnels, the new KST 55-710 has adjustments for steam volume, flow and nozzle position in a new compact design. This allows precise application of steam to specific points on the package, for best-possible aesthetics and minimal risk of bottle distortion at a very attractive price point.

Containers can be filled or empty, and virtually any shape, including round, oval and square packages. PVC, PETG, OPS and PLA films, in gauges as thin as 40 micron, are compatible. The KST 55-710 is ideal for full body shrink labels and multipacking.

System options include steam filtration to .5 micron to supply culinary grade steam and stainless steel tunnel stands, including a cantilevered version for easy raising and lowering. An available Efficiency Package features a thermostatically-controlled electronic temperature regulator, which ramps up quickly for fast steam delivery, and saves energy by metering steam in precise amounts. A powered venting manifold and condensate recovery system are also available.

The KST Series is an excellent alternative for end-use packagers and contract packers who want a "workhorse" steam shrink tunnel at an affordable price.
