New Static Transfer Switch Features Integrated Power Distribution
To Reduce Space Requirements and Simplify Power System Design and Installation
COLUMBUS, Ohio, February 17, 2004 -Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) and the world leader in high availability power protection through its Liebert brand, today introduced the Liebert STS2/PDU. This new integrated static transfer switch and power distribution center is designed to reduce space requirements and simplify the design, installation and management of high availability power systems.
The Liebert STS2 provides fast switching between AC power sources, enabling even single-corded computer systems to benefit from the increased availability made possible by dual-bus power systems. It features triple-redundant logic and redundant power supplies for outstanding reliability, and a color Touch Screen display for easy operation and management. Two Liebert Precision Power Centers have now been integrated into the STS2 cabinet to create the Liebert STS2/PDU, a single solution that delivers switching, power isolation, distribution, monitoring and computer-grade grounding in a self-contained package.

In addition to saving space, the STS2/PDU eliminates on-site wiring of the static transfer switch to two power distribution units, simplifying installation and enhancing installation reliability. This factory built and tested system ensures all wiring is properly sized, all connections have been tested, and all grounding is optimized for the system.
