Transition Networks Releases New Additions to Just Convert-It Line of Media Converters
Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Bridging and Serial Protocols
Minneapolis, MN- Jan. 12, 2004- Transition Networks Inc., the conversion technology expert, today announced several new releases within its Just Convert-It line of stand-alone media converters, which offer customers a lower-cost, no frills alternative to full featured converters while maintaining the same quality and lifetime warranty that Transition provides on all its products. Included in the additions are four models: 10Base-T to 10Base-FL, 100Base-TX to 100Base-FX, 10/100Base-T to 100Base-FX and RS232 to Fiber.
J/E-CF-02
This 10Base-T to 10Base-FL media converter is a new revision of the J/E-CF-01 offered previously by Transition. While offering the same copper to fiber conversion, the new -02 version has the addition of a rugged metal enclosure offering a more robust converter that can also be mounted into Transition's popular rack mount shelf.
J/FE-CF-03
This 100Base-TX to 100Base-FX media converter is a new revision of the J/FE-CF-02 offered previously by Transition. While offering the same copper to fiber conversion, the new -03 version also has the addition of a rugged metal enclosure offering a more robust converter that can also be mounted into
Transition's popular rack mount shelf. Feature enhancements include Auto-Negotiation and the addition of AutoCross, which eliminates the user intervention needed to choose the correct MDI/MDI-X button setting for the installation.
J/E-PSW-FX-02
This 10/100Base-T to 100Base-FX bridging media converter is a new revision of the J/E-PSW-FX-01 offered previously by Transition. While maintaining the Auto-Negotiation feature, this latest release also offers the ability to disable Auto-
Negotiation and force the copper port to 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps and to force both the copper and fiber ports to full or half duplex. Feature enhancements include the addition of AutoCross, which eliminates the user intervention needed to choose the correct MDI/MDI-X button setting for the installation. While offering
the same copper to fiber conversion, the new -02 version also has the addition of a rugged metal enclosure offering a more robust converter that can also be mounted into Transition's popular rack mount shelf.
J/RS232-xF-01
This RS232 copper to fiber media converter is a new addition to the Just Convert-It line. It is designed to provide distance extension of basic serial connectivity without all the handshaking signals that add cost to the product. This low-cost alternative to Transitions' full-featured RS232 to fiber converters utilizes only 3 wires of a typical DB-9 connector: Transmit, Receive and Ground. The converter will ignore any handshaking signals received from end devices, but will still link and pass data with any end device. This converter is offered in a DCE or DTE version and also includes the same rugged metal enclosure found on the other releases which offers a more robust converter that can also be mounted into Transition's popular rack mount shelf.
