AIDA ServoPro® Technology Changing the Face of the Metalforming Industry

DAYTON, Ohio -January 18, 2006 -AIDA's ServoPro® technology is helping customers gain a competitive advantage against global low-cost sourcing. Equipped with a fully programmable slide motion and adjustable stroke length for an infinite number of combinations - ServoPro makes it possible for a stamper to turn one press into multiple machines - eliminating the need to purchase a variety of presses to perform different manufacturing processes. This new approach to traditional metalforming represents the first fundamental change the metalforming industry has seen in presses during the last 30 years.

Unlike other servo press solutions, ServoPro's high torque low RPM servomotors, designed and built by AIDA specifically for press applications, are connected directly to the crank. Direct drive provides higher speeds, higher working energy, better control, precise accuracy, reduced power consumption and less maintenance. In addition to lower operating costs, ServoPro's unique direct drive offers the same maximum stroke length and torque rating as a conventional mechanical press, giving stampers the ability to use full torque above 5 spm. ServoPro is the only servo system equipped with a mechanical safety brake on the drive.

With ServoPro stampers also have the ability to run a multi-press transfer line in continuous mode. When compared to a conventional press line that operates in automatic single stroke mode, the ServoPro continuous mode can deliver productivity rates up to 50 percent higher. ServoPro technology is especially suited to the forming of high strength and exotic materials.

With one of the most diversifed product lines in the industry, AIDA's engineering application expertise and in-house knowledge equips the press builder to act as a true technology partner. Able to provide customers with turnkey solutions from design to first production run, AIDA is the only US manufacturer to offer a full range of mechanical presses from 30 to 4000 tons. AIDA features gap, straightside, progressive die, high-speed, transfer and cold forming as well as press automation and total turnkey packages.
