Splashtop Wins Prestigious PC World Innovation Award

SAN JOSE, Jan. 7 - DeviceVM, a company developing rapid-start computing technologies, was honored today by PC World, a leading computer magazine, as one of the 25 Most Innovative Products of 2007 for Splashtop, its revolutionary software that makes computing fast and simple. Splashtop allows users to access the Internet just seconds after turning on their computers. Splashtop was also named one of the Greatest Linux Innovations of 2007 by computer hardware review site Phoronix.com and awarded a Best of 2007 Editor's Pick by HardwareZone.com.

The PC World 25 Most Innovative Products Awards recognize both benchmark and breakthrough products that set the standard for innovation with unique qualities that distinguish them from the pack. PC World's editors compared hundreds of products before narrowing the field to the 25 winners.

DeviceVM will be presented with a trophy on January 7, 2008 at the ShowStoppers media reception at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas during the 2008 International CES. DeviceVM will also have multiple demonstrations inside the ASUS booth, 35162 in South Hall 4, in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Mark Lee, CEO of DeviceVM says, "We are really honored by this award and it's exciting to be recognized alongside companies like Google, Apple, and HP. We'd like to acknowledge our partner, ASUS, whose support and vision have made our initial success possible with their line of Express Gate motherboards."

DeviceVM works with OEMs and manufacturers to integrate Splashtop technology into their hardware. DeviceVM launched Splashtop in October of 2007 with partner ASUS on the P5E3 Deluxe motherboard. The technology gives consumers a rapid-start alternative to their traditional OS, such as Windows or Linux.

"These are among the most inventive and trend-setting products available, breaking the traditional boundaries while pushing the limits of technology," stated Harry McCracken, VP/editor-in-chief of PC World. "These winners help define industry standards and raise the bar for creativity in the future. Congratulations to Splashtop."

Splashtop is available today on the ASUS P5E3 Deluxe motherboard, and in 2008 the company plans on wider adoption through other platforms, including desktop and laptop configurations.
