SourceCode Delivers Microsoft SharePoint Collaboration Tools for Business Users

BARCELONA, Spain, Nov. 15 / -- SourceCode Technology Holdings, Inc., an industry leader for enterprise business process management software built on the .NET platform and a Microsoft Gold partner, today announced the release of K2.net(R) 2003 Collaboration Tools for Microsoft SharePoint Products & Technologies enabling business users to easily define and create document workflows within Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 (SPS).

Based on the Microsoft .NET platform, K2.net 2003 now provides seamless integration to Microsoft's SharePoint Products & Technologies by providing the tools and out-of-the box wizards that help rapidly define, create and manage complex business processes in the collaborative SharePoint environment and extending out to related systems as needed in the workflow such as Lines of Business and e-mail systems. To date, these capabilities have rested mostly with the developer and IT community.

The K2.net 2003 new feature pack for collaboration represents a growing commitment by SourceCode to democratize assembly and automation of business processes by empowering the business users with user-friendly workflow tools targeted to their needs. More specifically, K2.net 2003 Collaboration Tools for SharePoint delivers additional wizards to make it easy and fast for a business user to workflow-enable and customize business processes applied to a SharePoint document library.

Deeply integrated with the powerful K2.net Server workflow management and execution platform, K2.net Collaboration Tools for SharePoint allow business users define serial, parallel and multi-stage workflows, with escalation logic, e-mail notifications, related instructions and more. The design experience is completely integrated within the familiar Web-based SharePoint environment with the addition of key enterprise workflow features such as tracking and audit trailing.

For business users to effectively interact with a given business process to route and approve documents, development of forms front-ends is typically required. Customer feedback has consistently flagged the amount of time, skill and expense for enterprises to develop and integrate these forms as part of building SharePoint-based document workflows. To enable non-technical users to create and build document workflows specific to their business needs, the new K2.net 2003 feature pack now reduces the time and effort as well as dependence on technical skills previously required for this forms integration.

"SourceCode has been a committed and proven SharePoint and MCMS partner who continues to make innovations leveraging our core technologies and demonstrating the powerful collaboration platform Microsoft delivers," said Jeff Teper, General Manager responsible for Microsoft's SharePoint Portal Server & MCMS Product Groups. He added, "Investments and releases such as K2.net 2003 continue to enhance and extend the ability for SharePoint Portal Server to deliver real business value across the enterprise."

In his company announcement regarding the release, SourceCode Chief Executive Officer, Adriaan van Wyk said, "K2.net 2003 Collaboration Tools for SharePoint Products and Technologies clearly demonstrates how our team translates customer feedback into valuable solutions." He added, "We will continue to invest in Research & Development and deliver innovations that anticipate and solve business challenges our customers face on both the current and future .NET platforms, with more feature releases planned this fall."
