SoliferPolar Chooses Tacton Configurator to Streamline Their Build-to-Order Process

November 28, 2006, Stockholm, Sweden - SoliferPolar is now using Tacton Configurator to manage its comprehensive product portfolio and streamline the resultant customized manufacturing process.
SoliferPolar is one of Europe's largest designers and manufacturers of caravans, offering the Swedish Polar brand alongside the Finnish-designed Solifer range. Each model is built to order, and with 6-7 distinct models in each range, plus a wide range of choices in interior fittings and textiles, the total number of possible variations is almost limitless.
Previously the system of ordering and manufacturing has been time consuming at each step in the process. With Tacton Configurator in place, the aim is to give customers the opportunity to configure these complex products on-line, while securing the information for the production process.
SoliferPolar has bought Tacton Configurator Server for internal users, together with Tacton Configurator Studio, the graphical maintenance tool used to define how product components can be combined into solutions. This package was integrated with SoliferPolar's new JEEVES ERP system. The next phased step will be to rollout the system to include all dealers.
