Hobart Brothers' ER70S-6 and ER70S-3 Optimized for Quality Performance on Solid Wire Applications
- Offers consistent wire feed
- Extends tip life
- Provides smooth, stable arc
Troy, OHIO. April 13, 2005-To improve wire feed, increase tip life and provide quality performance on solid wire applications, Hobart Brothers introduces its new copper coated ER70S-6 and ER70S-3 mild steel solid wires. Now available in limited quantities, the new wires will be in full production by August 2005 and will be available in .035-, .045-, .052- and 1/16-inch diameters. Both wires are ideal for general fabrication, automotive, structures, pressure vessels, pipe and railcar applications.
Quality Performance, Reduced Rework
Designed for use with 100-percent CO2 or Argon-rich shielding gases, the ER70S-6 and ER70S-3 wires provide improved feedability and increased tip life over other wires in the market place. Each offers consistent wire feeding through longer gun cables or conduits, allowing for repeatable weld parameters and making them especially suitable for high-duty cycle applications.
According to Bruce Morrett, solid wire product manager, Hobart Brothers, "These new wires are very versatile. They provide excellent welding performance for a multitude of industries and can help those industries reduce the cost for down time due to tip or feeding issues."
Specifically, the ER70S-6 and ER70S-3 provide good feedability and a stable arc that ensures smooth weld beads. These features help eliminate weld discontinuities and reduce labor costs associated with rework caused by wire feed issues.
