Seco-Carboloy Introduces New T-Geometry Solid Carbide Drills

Specially-designed for titanium and titanium alloys

Warren, Mich., May 29, 2003 -With the introduction of its new T-Geometry Solid Carbide Drills, Seco-Carboloy offers another solution to tackle the difficulties encountered in machining titanium and its alloy materials. The new drill features sharp cutting edges, a large back taper and an optimized geometry. These characteristics reduce workpiece deformation, excessive heat build-up, residual surface-hole stress and the creation of exit burrs.

Additional benefits of the new T-Geometry drill include longer tool life, greater productivity, less work hardening and improved hole quality.

This new drill expands Seco-Carboloy's existing family of solid carbide TiAN coated drills. The T-geometry drill can be ordered as a semi-standard in 3xD or 5xD with internal or external coolant. Diameter range is .187 in. - .708 in. (4.76 mm - 18 mm) in increments of 0.004 in. (0.01 mm).
