Solenoid Valve targets fluid handling applications.

Press Release Summary:

Measuring 4.5 mm wide, Type 6650 Flipper Isolation Valve enables flushing of materials through device, eliminating waste of reagents as well as cross contamination. Unit is available in 2/2-way and 3/2-way configurations and in 2 different orifice sizes. Combination of 0.4 mm orifice and normally closed function allows for pressure rating up to 7 bar. With PEEK and FFKM wetted materials and IP65 protection, valve is suited for use with aggressive fluids.

Burkert Announces Type 6650 Flipper Solenoid Valve

New Valve raises the bar for Reduced Size, Cost, and Waste in Clinical, Life Sciences, Analytic, and Fluid Handling Applications

Irvine, California - Burkert, the world's leading partner for Fluid Control Systems, today introduced its type 6650 flipper isolation valves - setting industry standards for both size and performance.

With its 4.5mm width, the 6650 flipper isolation valve is a significant step towards miniaturization while even outperforming 10mm designs. It allows equipment and instrument manufacturers to pack more valves into the same space for greater functionality, or helps reduce laboratory costs by shrinking the size of the equipment or instrument. It is the perfect choice for clinical, life science, analytical, and fluid handling equipment manufacturers with valve applications requiring fast response times, high reproducibility, no pumping, and excellent flushing characteristics.

The new valve's optimized internal design enables effective flushing of materials through the device such as formerly known in rocker valves only. This eliminates the waste of expensive reagents as well as cross contamination and increases process safety.

The 6650 flipper isolation valve options include 2/2-way and 3/2-way configurations, as well as two different orifice sizes. In combination with the 0.4mm orifice and the normally closed function it allows for a pressure rating up to 7 bar. By virtue of the standard wetted materials PEEK and FFKM, the valve can be used for a wide range of aggressive fluids. Furthermore the 6650 provides IP65 protection that qualifies it for even rough environments.

In order to achieve ultra short response times, the valve is design to be controlled with a booster electronic that is either available as a built-in circuit in the valves' cable or can be integrated into the customers control electronics.
