Software targets shop-floor operations.

Press Release Summary:

NaView v4.8 optimizes production scheduling by allowing multi-dimensional processes to run simultaneously. Planning and scheduling solution lets users define multiple parameters, whether limited by quantity, volume, weight, temperature range, other constraints, or combination of all above. Suited for operations with multiple constraints, it enables plants to run multiple customer-designated maximums at once.

NaView 4.8 Offers Multi-Dimensional Operation Capabilities on the Shop Floor

Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario - May 4, 2005 - RSS Solutions Inc., a leading developer of Advanced Planning, Scheduling and Execution (APS) solutions, has announced the release of its NaView 4.8 version that offers multi-dimensional operation capabilities on the shop floor. Benefits of NaView 4.8 can be directed to heat-treating or baking applications, painting applications, production environments that utilize multi-spindle milling machines, as well as any other dynamic process that requires multiple measurements.

With NaView 4.8, an organization has the ability to optimize its production scheduling by allowing multi-dimensional processes to come together and run simultaneously.

"NaView 4.8 allows you to combine operations where there are multiple constraints," says Carol Leaman, CEO of RSS Solutions. "In a shop environment, you often have processes from different orders and different customers coming together where there are more constraints than just time. With this feature you can run several customer-designated maximums at once. The benefits can be substantial since you will achieve economies of scale by running multiple processes simultaneously."

Adds David Cox, CTO of RSS Solutions: "NaView 4.8 is the only planning-and-scheduling solution on the market with the level of flexibility that enables customers to define their own multiple parameters, whether it is limited by quantity, volume, weight, temperature range, other constraints or the combination of all these parameters together."

This latest feature was presented at the Annual RSS Solutions Customer User Conference in Charleston, North Carolina on April 18th and received an enthusiastic response from attendees. Says NaView user Mike Feltovich of Quadrel Labeling Systems: "This is a great new feature that could simplify our set-up and allow the grouping of like operations with multiple parameters to run together."
