Go Digital: Toss Pin Boards and Flipcharts

Efficient and Creative Problem Solving in Workshops - Fraunhofer Software Gives You Just That

Transfer Workshop Results Directly Into Your Project Planning

DARMSTADT, Germany, March 27/ --Even nowadays the moderation of workshops and meetings is still typically based on archaic tools: pin boards with flipchart paper, felt-tip pens, visualization cards and various adhesive or magnetic symbols.

Now there is an alternative to these antiquated communication processes and intensive time investments: The Fraunhofer Integrated Publication and Information Systems Institute (IPSI) in Darmstadt, Germany is now offering its market-ready digital solution designed in close cooperation with professional moderators for moderating business workshops: Digital Moderation.

The digitalized workshop requires a laptop or PC per participating group and a computer for the moderator. In addition there is a "stage client" that acts as the overall result output monitor for all participants and, for example, displays an image over a beamer or some other large display screen. All the clients are linked to a joint server that can be run on any standard PC or laptop.

The software installed on the system then permits the interactive exchange of ideas, questions and evaluations. External material in data formats that are particularly suited for data transfer such as CSV or XML may also be imported and used by the moderator for discussions. This way a workshop can be integrated directly into cross-functional business processes.

The Digital Moderation system can be adapted to the number of individual participants, groups and group sizes. This instigates effective discussions within the groups and allows for larger meetings with up to 500 participants.

The introductory price for the smallest license for Digital Moderation is approx. 6000 US Dollars (5000 Euros) for the version with a server, an editor, a stage client, a moderator client and three participant clients.
