UniPress Software Integrates Microsoft's .NET Web Services Support into FootPrints 6.0

Enables Organizations to Link .NET Applications to the FootPrints 6.0 Web-Based Service Desk

EDISON, NJ (July 22, 2003) - UniPress Software, Inc., a leading provider of web-based service desk automation software, today announced that its flagship product FootPrints 6.0 fully supports Microsoft's .NET Web Services platform. This allows organizations to link help desk and external customer support operations powered by FootPrints 6.0 with other third-party applications and systems using an XML/SOAP interface.

FootPrints 6.0 provides a broad range of enhancements and features, delivering an even more powerful, web-based service desk to help organizations significantly improve the speed, quality, and capacity of internal and external support operations. In addition to support for Microsoft .NET Web Services, FootPrints 6.0 includes advanced workflow capabilities, new graphical reporting, an administrator flashboard, expanded knowledge management, an integrated calendar and scheduler, expanded escalation functions, and enhanced e-support that integrates real-time, web-based remote control and chat tools.

"We are now enabling our customers to leverage their existing Microsoft .NET Web Services with FootPrints 6.0. Our new, fully documented web services interface to FootPrints allows easier integration with other systems including support for .NET, XML, and SOAP," said Mark Krieger, President of UniPress. "The Microsoft .NET architecture provides a centralized platform for mid-sized companies and departments within large organizations to leverage the Internet to automate their business processes and workflow. FootPrints' open architecture, used in conjunction with the flexibility of .NET, offers a powerful combination for our customers to streamline help desk and support initiatives across the organization, and deliver a range of self-service capabilities via the Internet."

FootPrints 6.0 includes a .NET Web Services XML/SOAP module to enable .NET applications and services to use FootPrints' functionality to automate help desk tasks such as creating service request tickets, or querying the system to review open ticket assignments.

To further extend FootPrints to .NET, UniPress has bundled a sample application module that demonstrates the system's .NET functionality. Using this single client application, technicians from any location can seamlessly download FootPrints tickets and other data into the client spreadsheet, and update those tickets once they are back online - all via XML.

The .NET platform makes it even easier to deploy FootPrints to improve help desk and support operations, as well as manage a broad range of business activities, such as development and bug tracking, customer relationship management (CRM), IT resource management, and other project management.
