Introducing Total Configuration Management to International Markets and Debuting Patch Manager 3.0 with Extensive International Language Support

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. AND BARCELONA - June 30, 2003 - Today at Tech Ed 2003 Europe, Ecora Software, the leader in total configuration management, is announcing the broadening of its market reach to better meet the demands of the company's growing international customer base. Additionally, Ecora is introducing its Total Configuration Management (TCM) solution to international markets and debuting extensive international language support in its Patch Manager 3.0 product.

"The market need for configuration reporting, change tracking, regulatory compliance, and patch management coupled with the internationalization of our software is fueling the global demand for Ecora's TCM solution," said Alex Bakman, CEO of Ecora. "As a result, we're adding dedicated staff to meet international demands, enhancing our product offerings, and fostering new partnership relationships."

Ecora's TCM solution helps organizations grapple with configuration management and patch management issues with enterprise-wide, automation products. Globally, Ecora supports the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and facilitates organizations' adoption of the best practices framework. With the ability to identify security vulnerabilities caused by misconfigurations and missing patches, Ecora provides the means for organizations to comply with the ISO 17799 standard (Code of Practice for Information Security Management).

Ecora Rolls Out TCM

Announced recently in North America, the Ecora TCM solution is a proactive and holistic approach to securing the IT infrastructure and reducing operational costs through automated, multi-platform, enterprise-wide configuration reporting, change tracking, and patch management. The Ecora TCM solution is comprised of Ecora Enterprise Auditor 3.0 and Patch Manager 3.0.

The heart of Ecora's TCM solution suite is a centralized configuration database, which stores critical configuration data collected from the most important elements of the IT infrastructure: Cisco routers, all flavors of Windows, NetWare and Unix systems, DBMS systems like Oracle and SQL Server, application enablers like Citrix, IIS web servers, MS Exchange and IBM Domino mail servers, and Windows Active Directory.

With this data, IT managers can run hundreds of out-of-the-box (documentation, baseline, fact-finding, and consolidated change) reports, providing all the information needed to increase availability of the infrastructure and reduce the time and costs associated with system changes, vulnerability assessments, disaster recovery, and IT regulatory compliance.

Ecora's patch management product rounds out its TCM suite offering with best-of-breed, automated patch analysis and remediation capabilities to proactively evaluate and mitigate security vulnerabilities across the enterprise before they can be exploited.

Patch Manager 3.0 International Language Support

Ecora is also debuting Patch Manager 3.0, its automated patch analysis and remediation solution, which will include extensive international language support (Danish, Dutch, Finish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish).

"Patch management is a global IT issue," said Ronni Colville, research director, Gartner, Inc. "The only way companies can effectively keep up with patches to provide a more stable and secure environment is with automated patch management solutions."

International Partnership Program

As Ecora continues to increase its international presence, the company is actively pursuing partnerships with resellers, distributors, and independent software vendors who want to add significantly greater value to their solutions and product offerings with Ecora's TCM product line.
