OTTAWA, July 16 -- AFORE Solutions, Inc. a leader in the design and delivery of technology solutions for network equipment providers and embedded systems today announced the immediate availability of its InterPort(TM) Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) OAM and advanced Release 2.0 Service OAM (S-OAM) licensable software solutions which allow network equipment providers to enhance their Ethernet network solutions.

The InterPort EFM OAM software module is a portable implementation of all management and control plane components of IEEE 802.3ah Clause 57, also known as Link OAM. Ethernet Link OAM includes mechanisms for monitoring link operation, such as remote fault indication and remote loopback control. The standard compliant InterPort EFM OAM software module enables equipment manufacturers to rapidly and cost-effectively offer robust features on their next-generation Ethernet product lines.
Release 2.0 of AFORE's InterPort Service OAM software suite is also generally available and provides enhanced capabilities including simultaneous support of IEEE 802.1ag and ITU-T Y.1731, multicast loopback support and enhanced MIB ready APIs. AFORE's InterPort S-OAM software offers comprehensive connectivity fault management, alarm notification, trouble shooting, and performance monitoring capabilities to enable enhanced Ethernet capabilities utilizing existing platforms.
InterPort solutions for 802.3ah EFM OAM integrate seamlessly with the AFORE InterPort SOAM (802.1ag/Y.1731) and G.8031 Ethernet protection switching modules.
