Tool splits lengthy PDF files into pages or sections, saving as new documents

Lansdowne, PA, April 21, 2002- Appligent, Inc., (www.appligent.com), a leading provider of Portable Document Format (PDF)-related software solutions, today announced the release of APSplit, a low-cost production-grade software utility that extracts pages or sections from PDF files and saves them as new documents. This enables businesses and organizations to cut down on lengthy download times for large PDF documents that include additional forms and sections not required for every user.

APSplit allows organizations to streamline their document management processes. Many businesses today produce large PDF documents that serve multiple purposes, but end-users often require only a small portion of the document. APSplit can split these files by bookmarks, page ranges, lists of multiple page ranges and more, so they can be more easily accessed and utilized for specific purposes. For example, if a user only needs pages 5-10 of a 1,200-page PDF document, APSplit extracts those pages and either saves them together as a new PDF file or saves each page individually. APSplit also splits PDF files within a directory. For example, it takes the table of contents and executive summary of each PDF file within a directory and saves them to a new directory.

APSplit is a standalone product and can run in either desktop or server environments.
