IBM Cloudscape V10.0 provides a leading Java(TM)-based, standards-driven, and zero-administration database. IBM Cloudscape is ideal for:

· Application developers who need a fully embeddable, easy-to-use
relational database management system
IBM Cloudscape can help significantly lower the cost of development, testing, and support. You can create a single version of your application to address all platforms that support a fully functional Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Easily embedded in an e-business application, IBM Cloudscape requires zero administration and scales from laptop or desktop applications to the more robust server applications. With IBM Cloudscape support for complex SQL transactions and Java
database connectivity (JDBC), your applications can migrate to DB2 Universal Database® (UDB) when they need to grow.
IBM Cloudscape V10.0 has a 2 MB footprint database that can tightly integrate into any Java-based e-business solutions. This core database code has been provided by IBM to the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), and is now available under an open source project (Project Derby) from ASF.
