Informative Graphics® Releases Net-It® CAD Plug-In for Autodesk Inventor® Visualization

Publish Inventor Drawings & Models With Visual Rights(TM) For Fast & Accurate Viewing With Free Viewer.

PHOENIX, Arizona December 2, 2003 - Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC), a leader in collaboration technology, released its Net-It® CAD Plug-In for Autodesk Inventor® to enable controlled visual sharing of design data. Net-It CAD for Inventor offers users a fast, easy-to-use, and content-secure alternative to publishing design files for viewing via a free reader.

As an Inventor installed plug-in, Net-It CAD converts Inventor design files to "content sealed formats" (CSF/3DF) files viewable by IGC viewing products. Published drawings are generally much smaller than equivalent Adobe PDF files, and feature IGC's Visual Rights(TM) technology, a comprehensive security framework that is integrated with the publishing process. Visual Rights includes persistent security controls that are manually selected and applied to the published drawing or model. Designers can expire viewing rights, enable password protection, allow/disallow plotting, copying, and measurement. For more information about Visual Rights, visit http://infograph.com/visrights.htm.

Published Inventor files are highly compressed (70-90% of original size) and provide an efficient way to distribute models for controlled visualization. The Net-It CAD Plug-In for Inventor uses the CAD system's API, ensuring better fidelity over de-engineered viewing methods. Published designs can be viewed, printed to scale, and measured (based on Visual Rights) using the free Brava! Reader or ModelPress Viewer. For more on these desktop and web-based viewers from IGC, see http://infograph.com/press/bravareader.htm.

The Net-It CAD Plug-In for Inventor is immediately available at net-it.com/netit_plugins.asp. A special introductory price of $99 (US) is being offered through Jan 1, 2004. List price is will be $199 (US).

"Enterprise-wide access to design content shortens the product development cycle by improving design communication - reducing time-to-market and manufacturing costs," said Gary Heath, CEO at IGC. "Our established core competency is CAD publishing and visualization, along with the intellectual property concerns in sharing this type of content. Net-It CAD is a better alternative to PDF, since it is designed for both 2D and 3D CAD, and it supports CAD concepts," he added.
