Software provides regression testing of products.

Press Release Summary:

Automated Product Testing System automatically executes complex test scripts configured by operators, test engineers, and managers. It performs numeric, alphabetic, and bitwise comparisons against constant or acquired values. System contains programmatic structures for looping, sub-routines, and variables, and full set of logical, relational, and numeric operators. APTS runs on Intel-based PCs, running MS Windows 95/98/Me/2000. Hardware interfaces are customizable.

Original Press Release:

Automated Product Testing System (APTS) Provides Unmatched Flexibility and Speed For Functionality and Regression Testing

Regression testing is a time-intensive process, which must be conducted each time hardware or firmware is updated to verify that no existing functionality is compromised. Acquired Data Solutions, Inc. a specialist in automated testing, has developed a low-cost, highly flexible solution to reduce product functionality and regression testing time by greater than 50%. According to Steve Seiden, Director of Business Development, "APTS thoroughly and consistently tests your products, providing real-time reporting for responsive decision- making."

APTS automatically executes complex test scripts configured by operators, test engineers and managers alike. "Our custom test programming language." explains Mr. Seiden, "provides the capability to perform numeric, alphabetic and bitwise comparisons, against constant or acquired values. It contains programmatic structures for looping, sub-routines and variables, and a full set of logical, relational and numeric operators. With its utilization of sub-tests and the collecting of device tests into test suites, it provides strong support for reusability." While providing full capability, the test scripting language is easy to use, and is focused on allowing those with minimal programming skills to write complex, extensive tests that thoroughly evaluate their hardware devices.

APTS was initially developed for a major manufacturer of communications test equipment to automate the system and regression testing of their SONET (STS-1/OC-3/OC-12) test product line. The system that resulted demonstrated its value and effectiveness by reducing system and regression testing time by nearly 70%.

APTS runs on Intel-based PC's, running MS Windows 95/98/Me/2000; databases are utilized for the written tests, device command sets, and test results. Hardware interfaces are customizable, supporting serial, GPIB, and TCP/IP connections for monitoring and control of devices.
