Citect Releases Ampla V3.1

Sydney, Australia - Citect announces the release of version 3.1 of its Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solution, Ampla, providing real-time data access to promote effective planning and global operational improvement. New features in Ampla V3.1 facilitate improved operational effectiveness and support continuous improvement strategies, such as Lean and Six Sigma, for organizations with plants in multiple countries.

"Ampla now enables both local execution and global visibility. Manufacturing headquarters can benchmark their operations in a consistent real-time view without the issues of time zone and/or regional differences," said Colette Munro, Global Director, Ampla.

Ideally suited for worldwide enterprise operations, Ampla V3.1 offers:
Versions in English, French, German and Chinese
The ability to store display data invariantly, such as local date and currency formats

According to Craig Resnick, Research Director, ARC Advisory Group, "Manufacturers are seeking to improve competitiveness in the face of increasing globalization; a key trend occurring across all industry sectors. It is vital that production management solutions follow this trend and are designed with globalization in mind to help manufacturers with their quest to increase both their revenues and profits. ARC would strongly recommend manufacturers specify production management solutions that offer globalization capabilities as a critical selection criterion."

In addition to globalization, Ampla V3.1 offers visualization enhancements for production costs. These enhancements further empower all staff to discover issues and drive improvement. Users understand data presented in graphic form much faster and easier than having to sort through pages of numbers.

Ampla also offers historical data processing (HDP) to provide more dependable data and operations metrics. For example, without HDP, inaccurate data may result if a disruption occurs to the communications networks between the server and the shop-floor. HDP eliminates this problem because all historical data is time-stamped and processed with the correct time the event occurred. Once communications are re-established, the historical data is processed in exact historical sequence.

"Ampla V3.1 is a significant development in Citect's global offering," said John Ross, CEO, Citect. "Ampla V3.1 brings best-of-breed MES capabilities and lowest total cost of ownership to a new level and will contribute significantly to improving manufacturing efficiencies."
