Tecnomatix Introduces Comprehensive eMPower Advanced Machining Solution for Powertrain Machining

New Native Windows Interface Provides Single, eMServer-based Repository for All Powertrain Planning Data

HERZLIA, ISRAEL - April 20, 2004 - Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: TCNO), the driving force in Manufacturing Process Management (MPM), has introduced an extensively enhanced, next-generation version of its eM-Machining solution for supporting the lifecycle of Powertrain planning projects. The new eMPower Advanced Machining solution combines the comprehensive features and functions of eM-Machining with a new native windows user interface that integrates directly with the eMPower eMServer - providing a single repository for all Powertrain Machining, Assembly and Inspection planning data.

The eMPowered Advanced Machining solution builds on the industry-leading functionality of eM-Machining, including: automatic feature recognition, operation and tool selection, tool path generation, line definition, line balancing, and NC programming and simulation. It supports Powertrain planning from early pre-planning, in which there is no 3D CAD data, to full detailed engineering. Thanks to its integration to the eMServer, eMPower Advanced Machining helps users define 2D and 3D plant layouts, as well as estimate and verify investment costs. In addition, users benefit from its Web-based collaboration environment and Web-based access to all planning data.

eMPower Advanced Machining is available immediately, as part of the eM-Planner suite of powerful products and solutions running on the enhanced eMPower 7.1 platform, announced earlier today. The eM-Planner suite enables the collaborative planning and managing of manufacturing processes for entire plants, lines and single operations. It allows planners to evaluate manufacturing alternatives, coordinate resources, optimize throughput, plan for multiple variants, implement changes and estimate cycle costs and cycle times - all in the very early stages of concept planning.

With its recent introduction of the enhanced eMPower 7.1 platform, Tecnomatix also announced significant upgrades and enhancements to several of its eMPower tools and solutions, including eBOP Manager, eM-Weld, eM-Engineer, eM-Human, and eM-PLC as well as IT infrastructure enhancements that extend eMPower 7 capabilities to allow support for hundreds of users. Tecnomatix also extended the connectivity capabilities of eMPower 7 with support for CATIA V5 and Oracle 9i databases.

"As an integral part of our eMPower offering of end-to-end MPM solutions, eMPower Advanced Machining supports our customers' need for tools that help them drive their core business strategies forward," said Jaron Lotan, Tecnomatix president and CEO. "Powerful, scalable solutions like eMPower Advanced Machining help our customers achieve greater cost savings, faster time-to-market for new products, and increased efficiencies in production execution. eMPower Advanced Machining is just the latest realization of our commitment to providing a full set of manufacturing and production process solutions, based on the open, collaborative, secure eMPower platform, and designed to support the entire production lifecycle from early pre-planning to full, detailed engineering execution."
