Major Enhancements to Annotations Toolkit Including AJAX Enabled Annotations for ASP.NET Highlight the Latest Version
EASTHAMPTON, Mass., March 13 /- Atalasoft, Inc., the leading provider of imaging components and technology for Microsoft .NET Framework- based developers, today announces the release of DotImage 5.0, the latest version of its Imaging Toolkit. DotImage 5.0 introduces a newly enhanced annotations toolkit including AJAX enabled annotations for ASP.NET that works side-by-side with Microsoft's ASP.NET AJAX controls, optimization for dual- core processors, enhanced document image cleanup features, and an improved TIFF codec.
Atalasoft DotImage is a full-featured photo and document imaging toolkit for applications built using the Microsoft .NET Framework for Windows Forms or ASP.NET. With the 5.0 release developers have access to more sophisticated annotations capabilities including flipping, rotating, undo & redo, callouts, and extensibility to use other rendering mechanisms. One of the most significant developments is the AJAX-based support for server-side, browser- based annotating -- the ability to move, resize, and author annotations within the browser without page postbacks.
DotImage 5.0 also includes an interface for parallelizing image processing to improve performance on multi-core and multi-processor machines. The Advanced Document Cleanup module underwent significant feature and performance enhancements with higher quality and speed as a result. Atalasoft also invested in developing a new TIFF Codec from the ground up for improved support and robustness. The Searchable PDF module for OCR now supports automatic page rotation. When used with Atalasoft's GlyphReader OCR engine, full color OCR with searchable PDF can be achieved with very high accuracy.
