Software provides optimal brake pipe positioning.

Press Release Summary:

Based upon CATIAV5 open architecture, TEA Pipe vertical application is dedicated to Piping and Tubing Simulation for placement of pipes in engines and cars. It gives detailed non-linear analysis of pipes and helps create pipe model within CATIAV5 environment. Users can obtain deformed shape of pipes, curvatures, stresses, and collisions information for successive configurations. A wide variety of pipe details and kinematical descriptions are available.

SAMTECH to Launch TEA Pipe, Its New CAE Product Embedded in CATIAV5 for Optimal Brake Pipes Positioning

Liege, Belgium - October 2004 - SAMTECH s.a., the European technology leading company for the development of advanced integrated CAE solutions, announces today the launch of its new TEA Pipe professional product based upon the CATIAV5 open architecture.

After having released TEA Mecano (transparent non-linear mechanical analysis) at ECF 2002, TEA Thermal (transparent non-linear thermal analysis) and SAMCEF Gateway (generic access to SAMCEF from CATIAV5) at ECF 2003, SAMTECH extends now its suite of analysis solutions embedded in CATIAV5 and provides CATIAV5 users with TEA Pipe, a new professional product. TEA Pipe is a vertical application dedicated to Piping and Tubing Simulation useful to prepare the placement of pipes in engines and cars. The first release, dedicated to brake pipe FE analysis and optimal positioning will be demonstrated at ECF 2004 in Paris (12-14 of October 2004).

TEA Pipe gives the engineer a very easy access to detailed non-linear analysis of pipes: the ease of the data definition and the generative and associative character of CATIAV5 will even make it attractive in a preliminary design phase. TEA Pipe will help the user to easily and quickly create a pipe model within the CATIAV5 environment making advantage of existing data (prepared within GPS, Assembly Design, Tubing, DMU Kinematics) and dedicated input panels to produce an optimized geometry usable in the Digital Mock Up (for example CATIA Tubing). TEA Pipe is based on the non-linear mechanism & structure simulation capabilities of SAMCEF Mecano embedded within the standard CATIAV5 environment.

Taking into account non-linear geometrical behavior, TEA pipe users can obtain the deformed shape of pipes, curvatures, stresses and collisions information for successive configurations. A large variety of pipe details (supports, reinforcements, spirals) and kinematical descriptions (simple or imported from DMU Kinematics) are available. Moreover, TEA Pipe users can produce the optimal design of the pipes thanks to the embedded BOSS quattro optimization algorithms: they can either optimize the pipe length or the pipe curvature.

Developed in close partnership with Dassault Systemes and Daimler Chrysler, TEA Pipe offers a very precise non-linear mechanical analysis solution dedicated to brake pipe analysis & optimization fully integrated within CATIAV5, said Eric Carnoy, Chief Executive Officer of SAMTECH. TEA Pipe extends the CATIAV5 applications portfolio of SAMTECH with a reliable and robust professional solution that will enable car manufacturers to develop better quality products within less time, through the suppression of expensive iterations during the pipes design process.
