Vijeo Look(TM) from Schneider Electric Brings Advanced Functionality, Open Standards to Entry-Level Scada

Simple, modular HMI solutions for smaller machines

NORTH ANDOVER, MA. - July 25, 2002- A new Web-enabled HMI software based on the latest Microsoft technologies has been introduced by Schneider Electric for stand-alone applications that require integrated logging and data processing functions.
TELEMECANIQUE VIJEO LOOK® software has all the functionality of traditional HMI systems in an easy-to-use package that integrates smoothly with existing application software.

VIJEO LOOK software uses OPC client/server technology, the foundation for all Schneider HMI/SCADA systems. Other standard technologies supported include ADO, VBA, ActiveX and Java Beans, which make it easy to view HTML pages embedded in Ethernet
modules.

The new HMI software uses the same graphics libraries as Schneider's FACTORY CAST® software, as well as "Diag Buffer" management from its TSX PREMIUM(TM) programmable controllers. This common technology base enables equipment makers to offer the exact level of HMI functionality required by a customer.

Advanced SCADA features such as value display, animated graphics, trend charts, data logging are all provided in an intuitive and easy-to-use supervision and monitoring
package that reduces maintenance costs over the life of the equipment. VIJEO LOOK software is compatible with all OPC-compliant Schneider controllers.

Schneider Electric, which pioneered the use of Web-based technologies in traditional industrial control and automation systems, has introduced a wide range of products that take advantage of Ethernet and IT standards to simplify machine and factory control. These range from traditional PLCs and other automation products to drives, power management and electrical distribution systems.
