PhatWare Announces PhatNet(TM) LAN/WAN Monitoring Tool For Windows Mobile-Based Pocket PCs

New Network Monitoring Product, Available in Personal and Professional Editions, Enables Users to Analyze and Diagnose Packet-Based Networks On-the-Go

LOS ALTOS, CA - June 8, 2004 - PhatWare Corporation, a leading provider of software products and professional services for mobile and desktop computers, announced today the release of PhatNet(TM), a new powerful network monitoring application for Microsoft Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs. Able to troubleshoot a wide range of packet-based networks including UDP, TCP, Ethernet, DNS, and NetBios, PhatNet brings new portability, convenience, and efficiency to the critical task of enterprise network administration.

PhatNet is a real-time analyzer that decodes and filters data transported over virtually any kind of Local Area Network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN) It filters packet-based data by IP address, UDP port, TCP port, hardware address, or data string, and supports the creation of advanced filters for difficult-to-diagnose network problems.

"Despite its status as a new product, PhatNet has been exhaustively tested in real-world situations. Network administrators will be both surprised and impressed by PhatNet's abilities and convenience," said Stan Miasnikov, president of PhatWare Corporation. "In today's data-centric business environment, companies can be brought to a standstill if their networks are not operating at 100% efficiency. We believe PhatNet will pay for itself many times over in gained enterprise productivity."

PhatNet, which supports monitoring of both wired and wireless networks, is available in two versions: Personal Edition and Professional Edition. PhatNet Personal Edition monitors PPP connections only; the Professional product also enables collection and filtering of network packets directly from the Ethernet network adapter in a promiscuous mode for all common forms of packet data and security performance information, allowing information to be exported in standard formats for charting and statistical analysis.

"Network security and availability are of paramount importance to today's enterprise," said Julie Wymetalek, manager of the Mobility Partner Advisory Council at Microsoft Corp. "PhatWare's new LAN/WAN monitoring product, PhatNet, is designed to add value to Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs by giving network administrators and IT security personnel a new mobile network maintenance tool."

PhatNet features an unusually easy-to-use Graphical User Interface (GUI) built on PhatWare's award-winning Windows Mobile interface technology. The application has been tested and certified with the Microsoft Designed for Windows Mobile logo for use with Windows Mobile 2002 and 2003-based devices.

PhatNet is priced at $99.00 for the Personal Edition and $299.00 for the Professional Edition. Introductory discounts are available for a limited time only. To purchase PhatNet, contact any authorized PhatWare reseller or visit www.phatware.com.
