OpenNetwork Extends Provisioning Capabilities with Universal Identity Platform 5.1

Next generation release adds value with greater platform support for provisioning, de-provisioning, SSO and password management

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF., Feb. 25, 2004 - OpenNetwork Technologies, the leading provider of non-intrusive identity management security solutions, today announced Universal Identity Platform (Universal IdP(TM)) 5.1. The next generation product provides expanded capabilities with 13 new connectors that automate the provisioning and de-provisioning of user accounts and simplify ongoing password management. Additionally, Universal IdP 5.1 has expanded its Web Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities with added support for Apache, SAP Portal, and the latest releases of PeopleSoft and BEA WebLogic.

The 5.1 release further solidifies Universal IdP's advantage as an identity management platform that enables companies to build on core Microsoft technologies to deliver an end-to-end solution that spans multiple IT environments with functionality such as single sign-on, password management and user provisioning.

Rather than complicating the customer environment with solutions that rely heavily on middleware and their own meta-directories, Universal IdP 5.1 leverages the data synchronization capabilities of Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) to enable role-based provisioning across a broad range of enterprise resources, including 13 new systems not currently supported by MIIS.

The Microsoft-centric identity management platform, Universal IdP 5.1, uniquely integrates MIIS with systems such as RACF, AS/400, SAP R/3, PeopleSoft, Solaris, AIX and more. Additionally, Universal IdP 5.1 includes a Web Services framework that simplifies the development of additional connectors to custom applications.

"Connectors provided by Universal IdP 5.1 allow Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) to further extend digital identity lifecycle management capabilities to additional platforms and applications," said Sandeep Sinha, Lead Product Manager, Windows Server Product Management, Microsoft. "Our ongoing work with OpenNetwork provides our customers with an integrated solution that helps reduce the cost and complexity of Identity and Access Management implementation."

"Provisioning enables enterprises to leverage their investment in identity management across both web and non-web platforms," said Phil Schacter, vice president, Burton Group. "Provisioning solutions are now an essential component of an enterprise's identity management architecture."

Universal IdP centralizes and unifies the management of identities and security policies, secures access to protected resources, and delivers automated workflow and provisioning into the enterprise. The solution addresses the needs of companies who have selected Microsoft as their identity infrastructure, yet require the flexibility to support heterogeneous environments.

"With this release, OpenNetwork furthers its ability to provide centralized identity and security management across a wide range of platforms," said Bob Worner, vice president, engineering, OpenNetwork. "The latest enhancements expand Universal IdP's value as an end-to-end platform that unifies the delivery of identity management, access control and provisioning."

The release of Universal Identity Platform 5.1 continues to define OpenNetwork as the supplier of choice for an end-to-end identity management solution that spans applications, users and locations inside and outside the enterprise.

Universal IdP 5.1 Highlights

Expanded Account Management - Extensive capabilities with new connectors for account provisioning, deprovisioning and password management.

Extended Web SSO - New support for Apache and the latest releases of BEA WebLogic and PeopleSoft builds on existing platform support for Windows Server System, SAP Portal, Vignette, Plumtree, BEA WebLogic (earlier versions) and IBM WebSphere.

Improved Self-Service Capabilities - New desktop password filter enables identity management from the desktop in addition to browser-based self-service.

Increased Customization and Control - New features provide single point of control over enforcement for authorization and authentication. Solution streamlines deployments and ongoing administration of identity management and access control.
