StarNet Announces X Windows Application Display Utility for Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX (SFU) 3.5


SUNNYVALE - CA, January 15, 2004 - StarNet Communications Corp., a leading publisher of Windows-to-UNIX/Linux connectivity software, announced Desktop-X 2.0, a new low-cost X Windows application display utility for Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX (SFU) 3.5. StarNet also announced an exclusive distribution agreement with Interop Systems Inc. of Woodinville, WA to market Desktop-X for large deployments in the government and commercial sectors.

Desktop-X 2.0 provides the graphical user interface to display X Windows applications ported under the Interix subsystem technology, which is included in Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX 3.5. Desktop-X was designed for computers running SFU 3.5. Its simple structure makes it an ideal utility to display ported UNIX applications, including 3-D OpenGL-based software. Desktop-X automatically boots when the X application is started on the Windows computer.
