McLeod Software Introduces LoadMaster Version 8.1

Birmingham, AL: McLeod Software, a provider of dispatch, accounting and operations fleet management software for the trucking industry, has released the most advanced version of its enterprise transportation management system.

The result of McLeod's long standing proactive development philosophy, which calls for continued efforts to enhance its products, the new features of LoadMaster Version 8.1 will vastly improve a motor carrier's ability to manage business processes for optimum efficiency and profitability.

"More than six years ago, we completely redesigned and redeveloped our entire product line to take advantage of third generation client-server architecture and development methods, affording us platform independence, robustness and scalability," says Tom McLeod, president and founder of McLeod Software.

"As a result, today's LoadMaster software can run on one server or across multiple servers and on virtually any hardware or software platform. No other major software vendor to the trucking industry offers this technology.

"It has also given us the flexibility to accelerate release cycles, delivering two major product releases per year, each adding powerful new features into the product. Ultimately, the benefit is that there are more features, more choices and more capabilities for our customers."

There are several new features and enhancements in LoadMaster Version 8.1 including:
o Recurring Orders Scheduler - this user-defined scheduler allows customer to set up daily, weekly or monthly trips in advance allowing for better resource planning. Helps a carrier improve service for dedicated operations and for high-volume customers.
o Round Trip Functionality - streamlines functions for improved visibility and execution of round trip operations, a common model handled by dedicated carriers.
o Local Mileage Table - used to help with contracts negotiated with specific mileage requirements, this feature provides users with the ability to enter specific mileage on routine trips where the actual or agreed-to miles differ from mileage in standard lookup programs. It is especially useful for deliveries in rural areas.
