Composite Software Extends EII with Expanded Metadata Management for SAP and Siebel Data

SAN MATEO, Calif.- January 23, 2006 - Composite Software, the Enterprise Information Integration (EII) leader, today announced several important additions to the company's award-winning flagship product, the Composite Information Server (CIS). The new capabilities allow customers to visualize data more easily from SAP and Siebel, web services, as well as many other databases and data sources. To help users assess the new benefits, CIS 3.7 will be shipped with an edition of the Composite Application Views(TM) product, which enables access and exposure of data from packaged applications such as SAP and Siebel. The new version of CIS has enhanced graphical modeling capability for greater configuration flexibility.

CIS's enhanced graphical modeling capability automatically creates diagrams that visually depict SAP, Siebel and other enterprise data dependencies, allowing users to more effectively view the relationship among data, its use and business meaning. CIS also includes a new Graphical Dependency Viewer that allows users to visualize impact analysis and metadata organization.

CIS 3.7 offers the flexibility to choose from a number of options when setting up metadata repositories. The range of data sources supported continues to be broadened. For example, CIS can now connect to Netezza NFS as a data source, whether it is used as a data warehouse or other business application.

CIS 3.7 also represents the first Composite product to include a trial version of SAP and Siebel Application Views, which decode application data, allowing the data to be combined with other sources and delivered in the form of Web services. Application Views comprise hundreds of pre-built views to simplify access to applications, accelerating operational reporting or service-oriented architecture (SOA) data layer initiatives.

CIS enjoys ever-expanding adoption by developers across a wide variety of vertical markets that need to manage and access their vital business information in disparate data sources across geographical locations," noted James Crawford, Composite Software's VP of Engineering. "With this latest release, we've answered customer requirements for expanded flexibility and fine-tuned performance to deliver an even more robust solution."

CIS 3.7 is available now, and is priced according to project requirements.
